Research Assistant
Support strategic foresight work—signals gathering, horizon scanning, and drafting futures scenarios—alongside senior researchers and programme leads.
Posted April 2, 2026
Role
You will help monitor weak signals and emerging trends, organize and tag source material, and contribute to structured scans across themes relevant to our programmes. You will draft and refine futures scenarios, narrative outlines, and supporting evidence; synthesize findings for briefings, workshops, and public insights; and maintain clean reference trails and citation libraries. You may assist with session notes, light data cleanup, and slide or document formatting under supervision.
You
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience; coursework or work in strategic foresight, futures studies, policy, social sciences, design research, or related fields.
- Strong attention to detail, clear writing, and comfort moving between academic, grey, and open-source intelligence.
- Familiarity with collaborative docs and basic spreadsheets; experience with horizon scanning, signal logs, or scenario methods is welcome but not required.
We offer
Contract role, fully remote within Canada; professional development support and exposure to cross-sector programmes and partners.
How to apply
Send your CV and a short writing sample (≤ 5 pages)—for example, a scan summary, scenario sketch, or research synthesis—to careers@novaromahorizon.org. Use the subject line Research Assistant.
